SpaceX Reports Third-Quarter Earnings Tuesday
SpaceX steps into its second earnings report as a public company Tuesday, with results due after the close on October 20. The company went public in June. Benzinga Pro’s consensus calls for $12.74 billion in revenue and EPS of 14 cents.
Hitting the revenue figure would mean adding roughly $4.93 billion in sales to the second quarter’s total, a sequential jump of about 63%.
SpaceX Second-Quarter Results Set the Bar
Those targets follow a quarter of rapid growth. SpaceX brought in $7.8 billion in second-quarter sales, nearly double the $4.1 billion from a year earlier. Its net loss shrank by $467 million, to $541 million from $1.0 billion. Adjusted EBITDA nearly tripled to $3.5 billion from $1.2 billion.
The Connectivity segment led the way. Its revenue grew 66% and its income from operations 79% as the Starlink subscriber count doubled. Elsewhere, SpaceX booked $14.1 billion of contracted sales through new cloud services agreements, struck a $60 billion deal to buy Cursor and launched its Grok 4.5 AI model in July.
RBC Capital Previews SpaceX Earnings
More news today includes RBC Capital analyst Ken Herbert reiterating an Outperform rating on SpaceX and keeping the price target at $225.
Herbert looks for an upbeat tone from management, with the same urgency and goals for later years moved closer. Herbert thinks the early report date caught investors by surprise, since most had penciled in November.
Herbert sees the recent spectrum purchase as good news and expects Starship momentum to keep going. Herbert also said more investors are talking about a possible merger with Tesla Inc (NASDAQ:TSLA).
